Dr. Janine Berg ist Wirtschaftswissenschaftlerin und promovierte an der New School for Social Research in New York, USA. Sie arbeitet seit 2002 in der Abteilung Inklusive Arbeitsmärkte, Arbeitsbeziehungen und Arbeitsbedingungen (INWORK) der Internationalen Arbeitsorganisation (ILO).
Sie hat Studien über die wirtschaftlichen Auswirkungen von Arbeitsgesetzen durchgeführt und die Mitgliedsgruppen der IAO technisch und inhaltlich in der Schaffung von Arbeitsplätzen und verbesserten Arbeitsbedingungen unterstützt. Von 2008 bis 2011 arbeitete Janine im IAO-Büro in Brasilien als Arbeitsmarktexpertin. Sie ist Autorin mehrerer Bücher und zahlreicher Artikel über Beschäftigungs- und Arbeitsmarktinstitutionen. Ihr neuestes Buch, Labour Markets, Institutions and Inequality: Building Just Societies in the 21st Century, wurde im Februar 2015 veröffentlicht. Janine Berg ist Co-Autorin des kürzlich veröffentlichten Berichts mit dem Titel Non-standard employment around the world: Understanding challenges, shaping prospects.
